Chromebooks are an asset to education because of their user friendly features. They are light, and slim which make it easy for students to handle them. The battery life of chromebooks lasts from 6 to 8 hours, which means they can be used all day and still have battery life. Teachers and educators like chromebooks because all of the student's files can be stored and easily accessible in the same location. Chromebooks also allow teachers to be able to share screens with their students, and for their students to follow along with their teacher as they teach. Chromebooks are able to fit multiple classroom uses in all subject areas as well as support the needs of all learners. Teachers can purchase multiple chromebooks for about 1/6 the price of an Apple MacBook.
Cons
Chromebooks may not be able allow students to have access to all of the Apple applications such as iMovie, iPhoto, Photo Booth, Garageband, etc. The applications are limited to what is available for chromebooks, and therefore an application may not have the same features as, say iMovie for students to create a movie. Chromebooks are limited to using the Chrome OS. The features of the chromebook allow for students to work on projects, tasks and assignments that's main focus is using the internet.
